Do not change anything in the color settings. In particular, I never set the color management policy to “off”. This will quickly get you into very serious problems and IMO this option should just be removed. The potential benefits and harms are high. The entire architecture of Photoshop revolves around functional color management.
If this laptop has a wide gamut screen, you only need to get one meter. End of conversation. No wide gamut display should be sold without it, and sellers should either include it or inform their customers beforehand. Dell did not.
In the meantime, you can replace Dell’s current poor profile with Adobe RGB. It won’t be perfect, but it will work. This is a system setting and you do it in Windows > Color Management > Tools.

Note that the wide gamut display will not display correctly in applications that do not support color management. It depends on the screen and there is nothing you can do about it. It always fills in the sRGB standard material. You should only use color-management software. When you purchase such a unit, you expressly accept it.

I already tried setting AdobeRGB (1998) icc as default instead of the ones that come with Dell PremierColor, but PS I still get this error message.
Interestingly, when PS fails, Illustrator and InDesign work fine and paint correctly on the specified profile.

Unfortunately on Microsoft hardware. Windows updates, graphics card updates, and display manufacturers have a frustrating reputation for installing useless (broken) display profiles.
The bad display profile problem is hidden by some applications, especially those that don’t use color management, like Microsoft Windows Photos.
Photoshop is correct, it is the industry standard for viewing images, in my experience it identifies the problem with the Display Monitor profile, not the cause. Whatever you do, don’t listen. The problem is not caused by Photoshop, so don’t change your Photoshop “color settings” to fix it.

To find out if this is the problem, I recommend that you try to set your monitor’s control profile to sRGB in the “Tools” section of the Windows “Color Management” control panel. You can add sRGB if it is not already selected.
(Or if you have a wide gamut monitor (check the spectrum online) it’s better to try Adobe RGB instead.
If this change solves the problem, it is recommended to use a calibration sensor like i1display pro to calibrate the current and profile correctly to create and set your monitor profile. The program should load the correct profile so you don’t have to manually configure the control panel when you get it right.

This is the second post in a series of tutorials, articles and videos aimed at simplifying color management. I am making a very serious matter here. Adobe Photoshop will colorize your images without any fuss or confusion, but the default options may not produce the best results. Understanding how to adjust color settings in Photoshop is an important part of a safe color management job. Some color management classes are interesting because they open up opportunities for new creative processes. This topic is not one of them, but it is important. I use Photoshop because it is used a lot in photography.

2. The default setting is General target North America. 2. Older versions of Photoshop may write this as general purpose for North America. Check and check the option selected in your system settings dropdown menu, which may be general purpose for North America. The screen in Figure 04 warns that the opening image has a ProPhoto RGB profile, but Photoshop currently works with Adobe RGB (1998). The default action is to use the built-in profile (instead of the workspace). This is what Photoshop does if the Profile Unbalance box is unchecked. Open the image with changes.
Warnings can often seem redundant, and many photographers who choose two of the three profile warnings are strictly unnecessary.
How To Setup Color Preference In Adobe Photoshop Color Settings
Think of the warnings as running your color in Photoshop, but they can be overwhelming. However, I recommend checking the Missing Profiles box. If the image is “untitled” and no color profile has been applied, Photoshop will guess the colors for you. The “unlabeled” image is sRGB. Images are usually sRGB, Adobe RGB (1998), or ProPhoto RGB. If a ProPhoto RGB image is unchecked and opened as an sRGB image, the color will be terrible.
