The purpose of retouching beauty photos is not to completely change the look of the model, but rather to emphasize the model’s best features while minimizing imperfections that may distract from what the viewer should be focusing on. Whether your design photos are editorial, commercial or personal, you want your editing to be as original as possible.
Beauty Retouching Challenge #2: Workflow Overview
This means avoiding things like changing natural features, widening their eyes and creating flat colors that look overly edited and unnatural. Instead, best photo restoration techniques involve improving the overall appearance of the photo without editing the original style features to achieve certain aesthetic standards.
Lighting is important for capturing the details of any subject – whether it’s a brand, a product or anything else you want to photograph. When it comes to beauty photography, the right amount of light can make skin glow. The lighting is very low and there may be shadows in some areas that emphasize imperfections such as bags under the eyes, tears, fine lines, dark spots and other features. Too much and your style can look unnatural and faded.
Before retouching, your image should be properly lit using the right type of light (white light, natural light, warm light, etc.) that matches your model’s skin tone. From there, you can retouch the image accordingly to change the brightness of certain areas.
To play with the brightness of the image, go to Photoshop’s Camera Raw filter and increase the brightness of the image. Adjust until the details and colors in your image are bright enough without appearing washed out

One important thing to remember when retouching beauty photos is knowing how much skin to touch up. Get the finish with an airy brush, smoothing out all blemishes and skin imperfections, but avoid completely blending all skin textures. This can give your model a realistic detailed look.
To retouch your model’s skin, use the Delicious Retouch v4 Heal and Stretch Brush Tool. Use the Spot Healing Brush tool to brush and remove any spots and blemishes that need to be removed from the skin and image in general. Be aware of any foundation or make-up that may be present, especially in long exposure photos.
Click on the Delicious v4 skin extension button to take advantage of the smooth effects you need for a high-end beauty or fashion photo. Exfoliate the skin gently and gently to separate the effect of the skin and give it a natural texture. The general picture after touching the skin should look like this:
If you know how to manually edit photo settings, you can also try the popular method of restoring the skin called “light and burn”. This is a popular method used by senior editors, although it can be time-consuming. Using this method, we can enhance the highlights and shadows to get the following results:

Flyaways and stray strands can be distracting, so it’s important to control all stray hairs. Beginners often make the mistake of using a brush or laser to hide or eliminate flyaways. The problem is that this can cause minor issues with the shape and direction of any hair left in the image, which can indicate that the hair style has been redone. You want your models to look as natural as possible, so the best way to deal with unwanted hair is to use the Clone Stamp tool.
The Clone Stamp can be used in Normal, Dark and Light Modes. A dark style is good for lightening dark hair, and vice versa. For other types of body hair, use grooming tools. Whether you want to trim unwanted body hair or remove all body hair, a hair restoration device can create a more natural look than other hair styles.
You may be tempted to adjust and retouch the eye area, but it’s important to have a light hand when retouching. Too much retouching can make the eyes look unnatural, which can take away from the character and affect the overall appearance of your model’s face.
Depending on your style and the type of photo taken, it’s best to touch up only the annoying makeup areas or unwanted lines using a touch-up product carefully. In addition, you can end up with lines that are not folded, which will seem impossible, although they are flawless, they can look unusual in the overall appearance of the model.

In fashion and makeup shoots, most of the style emphasis is given through a strong vision. Create those eyes by enhancing the model’s eyes using the Enhance module in the Delicious Retouch v4 extension menu.
Create separate files to lighten (Dodge) and darken (Burn) and lightly brush the areas you need to enhance. This allows the viewer to better appreciate the beauty of the eyes and the intensity of the expression or attitude. The changes that occur will give more detail to the iris and the pure white color called the sclera (the white part of the eyeball). Again, avoid retouching the eyes, as they can look full and look more unusual doll eyes than a real pair.
Color correction is a necessary change, especially when it comes to fashion, business and image. When it comes to your style, washed-out photos can create unwanted shadows and dark areas that can emphasize natural flow or hide your best features. Create the necessary adjustments by working with the hue, saturation, and color balance of your image before combining all the adjustment layers. Add a high pass filter to sharpen the image and set the blending mode to high.
