How To Make A 3d Text Effect In Photoshop

Create new documents of any size. Mine is 1000×750 pixels Then go to Window > Actions and create a new group and action specifically for your 3D effect. Press the record button when you are ready to record the next step.

Fill the background with dark gray using the Paint Bucket Tool (G). Use the Text Tool (T) to then write 300 point light gray text

Right-click the background layer and select Postcard. Then select the text layer and go to 3D > New 3D Extrusion from Selected Layer. Select the two visible layers and hold Control-E to merge them.

For a simple Photoshop 3D text effect, go to Environment in the 3D panel, set the Color Intensity to 164% and Shadow Softness to 25%, then choose 3D > Render 3D Layer and let the text render before rasterizing the 3D layer

When you’re done, reveal the 3D copy of the text to fit. And use the blending options to add color, shadows, or colorful gradients, and don’t forget to press Stop on the Actions panel to use this action for future projects.

Step 12 — Let’s add some color to our melting text! Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map and select our free gradient.

Step 16 — Add a noise filter with the following settings: Count: 50, Dispersion: Gaussian and turn on Monochrome mode.

Step 17 — Change the Blending Mode of the new texture to Soft Light. and set the opacity to about 45
